What are your payment options?

We accept payment through paypal. If you have a credit card you are able to use it through the paypal system without having to be a member. For Australian purchasers only we also accept bank deposits and cheque/money orders.

What is GST and AUD?

AUD=Australian Dollar, which is the currency we use here at Aussie Maille.  GST=Goods and Services Tax which is a tax that is applied to all Australian Purchases.  If you are an overseas customer, the total of your order will be 10% less than the displayed price.

Why are some of your rings odd sizes?

We currently have a mixture of metric and imperial measured rings.  Generally a straight conversion from the imperial to metric is shown, making for the odd sounding sizes.

What is anodizing?

Anodizing is an electrolytic process. Basically the niobium is placed in a bath of conductive fluid and an electrical current is run through it to produce an oxide layer on the surface of the metal. It is this layer that produces the colour you can see. The various colours are the product of different voltages being used on that batch.

In relation to Aluminium, there is an additional step that involves dies to achieve the various colours. 

How long will the colours last?

This will be subjective to serveral outside factors. The anodized colour can be scratched off, so reasonable care must be taken while weaving your rings. Try not to use a death grip on your pliers as you may scratch the rings. If you find you can't lessen your grip, try products like Tool Magic or even placing some masking tape over your pliers. The colours should last with normal wear of your items, but such factors as personal body chemistry may have an effect on the longevity of the colours. Once made into jewellery, keep the colour vibrant by not having them rub against such items as sand, keys etc.

How can I clean my anodized rings?

Niobium can be tumbled for a short period of time, but it is recommended to clean up your rings with warm soapy water. Do not use abrassive cloths to clean them.

Stock Levels - What happens if I want more than is shown in stock?

The stock levels shown are just that...what we currently have in stock.  If you need a greater amount please contact us directly and if we can assist you we will.  Please be aware that any order involving a partial backorder will incur additional postage charges.

What if I want a size that isn't shown?

We love to do custom orders, so if there is something you can't see but must have....please ask us.
